Owners and operators, Ed Scherer and Tom Looney, opened Helen's Garden from their own personal savings and assistance from family members. Helen's Garden is named after Tom's late mother and because they believe in the power of family, as well as the community. Helen's Garden gives back to their community by donating to numerous local organizations. Not only will you enjoy a great meal at Helen's Garden, but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are also helping your community.

No matter if you are coming to Helen's Garden for lunch, dinner, or a few drinks, you are sure to be satisfied. For lunch, Helen's Garden offers choices ranging from Grilled Pork Chop au poivre and mashed potatoes to the Gorgonzola, Artichoke, and Spinach Dip, served with a hot baguette (and those are just appetizers!). Helen's Garden also offers guests an array of soups, salads, omelets, sandwiches, and burgers, such as the grilled Filet Mignon, served underneath the layers of horseradish, red onion, tomato, and spinach – served on ciabatta with fresh cut French fries. Imagine having a burger like that for the very affordable price of 9.95!

For dinner, guests are invited to start off their meal with appetizers such as the Crab & Portobello which is adorned with red pepper aioli or the Mediterranean favorite – creamy Hummus. For the main dish guests can enjoy the scrumptious Cornmeal Crusted Catfish or the very tasty Blackened Beef Salad. Both dishes are affordable every day, but on Wednesdays, they're discounted! If you are at Helen's Garden for dinner and can't decide between meat or fish, well then have both! The Steak and Cake is a local favorite, which consists of a mouth-watering grilled beef tenderloin and a huge, scrumptious crab cake. This entrée is served with mashed potatoes and veggies – all of this for the amazing price of 27.95!

At Helen's Garden, guests just can't pass up homemade desserts, such as the delectable Mocha Pinenut and Almond Cheesecake, as well as the luscious Chocolate Hazelnut Cake. Helen's Garden also has one of the most extensive drink menu in town, offering a huge selection of cocktails, beer, and of course, fine wine. On the weekends, Helen's Garden serves brunch from 11:30am-2pm on Saturdays and 10am-2pm on Sundays. An assortment of pancakes, French toast, and omelets are enjoyed by guests for brunch.

Helen's Garden is open Tuesday through Saturday 11:30 to 4pm for lunch and for dinner from 5 pm to 9:30 pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays until 10 pm. Don't forget that Helen's Garden offers Baltimore's longest happy hour, Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 am to 8 pm! Due to the very relaxed atmosphere, casual attire is appropriate when dining at Helen's Garden.
